We think that's a beautiful thing. Here are a few examples of artists taking recyclable materials and positively impacting the environment by creating art. We think this is beautiful, too.   This polar bear sculpture is made of aluminum cans. (source)... Read More »

Ever Wonder What NASCAR Does With Old Tires?

Environmental initiatives like recycling may seem incompatible with a sport based on driving powerful cars at fast speeds for long periods of time, but NASCAR has begun to address its environmental impact in some interesting ways. By working with its partners, Coca-Cola Recycling and Coors Light, NASCAR has educated fans on the benefits of recycling and installed thousands of bottle and can recycling centers at speedways. In fact, in 2009, NASCAR recycled more than 2.5 million beverage... Read More »

Man we are versatile!

I'm back!  Figuratively and literally.  Last week I took off for a road trip that would seem like torture to most people.  But I love a challenge.  My travels would take me up through Virginia, Pennsylvania, make a left hand turn and shoot on over into Ohio, and head south back to the homestead.  After it was all said and done, I covered 2,024 miles in 4 days.  I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon.  Especially since I made the trip with pneumonia.Along the way I stopped and met...
